Thessaloniki “travels” with National Geographic Traveller. As a city with a history of thousands of years and many museums, which at the same time has excellent gastronomy, a “lively” nightlife and a seafront pulsating with life, Thessaloniki is presented by its Tourism Organization, in the annual special edition “European Cities Collection” of the travel magazine National Geographic Traveller for 2023. The second issue of the “European Cities Collection” series is aimed at lovers of history and culture and people who combine the travel experience with Spa & Wellness. Through its subject matter, it presents the urban tourism trends, the exciting cultural events and the travel experiences that can be had by those who visit the cities of Europe.
“In this issue the reader is drawn into a series of urban adventures such as a dip in geothermal pools or inner-city lakes, cycling through some of the finest metropolises, nature walking tours in peri-urban areas, and touring historic tourist attractions resorts and hotels. As its editor-in-chief, Zane Henry, points out, “one of the best ways to connect with a city is to explore it yourself”” states the Tourism Organization in today’s announcement and explains that the publication presents the profile of Thessaloniki as the second largest urban center of Greece, but which has the anointing of UNESCO as the only Greek city that achieved its inclusion in the Network of Creative Cities of Gastronomy.
With the advantage of being launched in over 20 countries, the release notes, “National Geographic Traveler has a dynamic audience of high-income people who buy premium brands and are interested in culture, gastronomy, adventure and luxury travel. Readers can find the European Cities Collection 2023 online at the National Geographic Traveler site. The presence of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization in this edition is part of the strategic promotion of Thessaloniki in Great Britain”.
