Under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism
Organization, important cultural and sporting events will take place during
this summer and autumn.
Important cultural and sporting events of international
interest and a strong tourist footprint that will take place during the summer
and autumn in Greece are under the auspices of the Greek Tourism Organization,
within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism’s national strategy for the
continuous promotion and promotion of specialists forms of tourism offered by
our country and in particular cultural and sporting.
Particular, events with the general title “REST@ ART Cultural Tourism 2019”, which include a series of cultural and artistic events taking place in selected luxury accommodation in Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Naxos and Patmos, started on 15 May and will be completed on 30 November.
The aim of these events, in which more than 180 Greek and
foreign artists are involved, is the activation of tourism entrepreneurs to
integrate interesting cultural actions into the provided product of
hospitality. It is noted that during this year’s event, additional targeted
press trips of European journalists will take place in the framework of the
cooperation of the organizers with the Association of European Journalists
(AEJ).
At the
same time, from May 30th to September 26th, the theatrical group FHMONOI
presents the Sophocles’ Tragedy “Oedipus Tirenon” with English and
French superstitles on the theater stage of the Athenian Culture Complex. The
purpose of the show is to give foreign visitors to Athens the opportunity to
experience the power and the ethos of ancient Greek drama, which has
so far only been limited to those who travel to specific dates in Epidaurus,
while at the same time strengthening the international image of Athens as a
destination that offers multifaceted and integrated cultural experiences to its
visitors.
Also in
the coming months, the show “Women of Passion – Women of Greece
2019-2020” will be presented by the AXANA artistic company in Athens,
Great Britain, Belgium and Australia, promoting both cultural tourism and city
tourism break in the Greek capital, as well as the contemporary cultural
creation of our country abroad.
In the “Women of Passion – Women of Greece”, the mythological form of Medea meets Maria Callas and Melina Merkouri, two great priestesses of modern Greece, enlivening important historical moments of Greece, while the viewer actively participates in a theatrical journey of creative memory, laughter and emotion.
