“ASKITIKI” by Nikos Kazantzakis at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki
“We come from a dark abyss;

we end up in a dark abyss;

the bright space in between we call it Zoe (Life)”

Nikos Kazantzakis

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki hosts the performance of the National Theater of Northern Greece “ASKITIKI” by Nikos Kazantzakis, directed by Andreas Koutsourelis.

The specific philosophic work is considered to be the  most original of all Kazantzaki’ s plays.

The metaphysical enquiry of Kazantzakis is being promoted by this theatrical version of his well-known work.

It is a condensed text expressing the metaphysical belief of the great Cretan writer. He argues that “Ascetic” is a cry and all his work a comment that carries his anxiety to overcome the boundaries of the mind. The phenomena and to solve the mystery of existence.
